(Ramapo, NY) With two-outs in the bottom of the eighth in a scheduled seven-inning game, Ryan Scoma took a Jorge Vasquez pitch over the right-center field wall to push the Boulders past the Bears 3-2.

Rockland jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Phillip Cuadrado doubled to knock in Keith Brachold. That lead would quickly evaporate as the Bears scored two in the second inning off of Boulders starter Will Hassett.  Juan Martinez started the rally with a double that brought home James Roche.  Martinez would then eventually score on a sacrifice fly from Mike Richard.

The score would remain 2-1 Newark until the bottom of the fifth when Cole Kraft tied the game with a solo shot into the Corona Short Porch. Julio Santana entered the game for the Boulders and pitched a scoreless six and seventh inning. Adrian Martin came in the top of the eighth and would be credited with the win.

That led up to Scoma’s walk off homer that snapped Rockland’s two-game losing streak. Game two of the double header is scheduled to start at 7:57 P.M
