The Boulders battled from a 7-1 deficit to tie the score before falling short in Newark, 10-9. Scott Knazek hit his first homer of the season as Rockland settled for a split of the season-opening four-game series.

Newark earned its first victory of the 2013 campaign; defeating Rockland 8-5 at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium. With the win, the Bears also snapped a six game skid to the Boulders in Newark dating back to last season.

(Newark, NJ) - Chris Edmondson hit his second homer in as many nights and Pat Moran turned in six strong innings to lead the Boulders to a 3-1 victory, spoiling the home opener of the Newark Bears at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Rockland pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts.

 Chris Edmondson, Stephen Cardullo and Donnie Webb homered and Bobby Blevins turned in a strong outing as the Boulders took their 2013 season opener from the Newark Bears, 6-4.

The Rockland Boulders rapped out 20 hits in their exhibition opener, defeating the Newark Bears by the score of 13-4. Jerod Edmondson had four hits and brother Chris hit a homer while TJ Wink worked five strong innings to pick up the win.
